Welcome
The Blowing Stone Inn and Restaurant harmoniously blends modern times with old- fashioned warmth and hospitality. The pub derives its name from the Blowing Stone that is located on the outskirts of the village. The Sarsen stone is studded with holes that when blown correctly can be heard for many miles across the downs. King Alfred was said to have used the stone to rally his troops against the Danes in 871.
The village of Kingston Lisle lies in the lea of Blowing Stone Hill that forms part of, and over which The Ridgeway path runs. It is also only 1.5 miles from the famous White Horse of Uffington. This, together with being in the midst of one of the major racehorse training areas in the country makes it a ‘must visit’ for all countryside lovers.
